ABOUT THIS COURSE
This course takes you from understanding generative AI to using it in real OSINT work.
You'll compare the major platforms, set up local and offline models for sensitive work, develop prompt and context engineering skills, and apply AI across four modes: brainstorming, research, analysis, and communication.
Activities and quizzes throughout build practical capability so you finish the course ready to integrate AI into your workflow.
Understand and choose the right AI for the job
Compare ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Copilot, DeepSeek, and others side by side, and learn how to pick the one that fits the task in front of you.
Prompt and context engineering
Move beyond generic prompting tips and build prompts, system instructions, and RAG designed for collection, analysis, and reporting.
Apply AI across the intelligence cycle
Use AI as a brainstorming partner, research assistant, analytical sparring partner, and writing aid, while spotting hallucination, sycophancy, and OPSEC failures before they cost you.
ESTIMATED TIME TO COMPLETE
The course takes around 8 to 12 hours to complete and is fully self-paced, so you can work through it in a single intensive block or fit it around your week.
WHO THIS COURSE IS FOR
This course is for OSINT practitioners, analysts, and investigators who already understand how generative AI works and now want to apply it to their day-to-day work.
It suits people choosing between AI platforms, building prompts and context for intelligence tasks, and integrating AI into their planning, collection, analysis, and reporting. Anyone moving from AI awareness to applied use will get value here.
PREREQUISITES
AI Essentials is recommended as a foundation, or equivalent understanding of how generative AI works (including hallucinations, sycophancy, and non-deterministic behaviour).
Foundational OSINT experience, such as OSINT Primer, is also recommended so you can apply the techniques to real investigative work.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Once you've built your AI capability, the next step is applying it inside thematic investigations.
Location and Event Intelligence with Open Sources pairs well if you monitor regions, events, or operational environments, particularly the AI-assisted geolocation and regional assessment work.
The OSINT Redbook: Exploring the Chinese Internet is a natural pairing, since AI translation, summarization, and prompt-driven research meaningfully expand what you can do across Chinese-language sources, search engines, and platforms.
Person of Interest and Social Media Investigations is a strong next step if your work centers on individuals, since AI-assisted research, summarization, and network analysis come into their own there
